Flood Restoration Portfolio

Following the devastating 2022 floods, Lismore City Council established the Flood Restoration Portfolio (FRP) – a dedicated initiative to restore and strengthen our infrastructure, environment, and community facilities. Its primary goal is to rebuild essential services and enhance resilience against future disasters.

Our work includes repairing roads, bridges, and waste facilities; rebuilding community centres; upgrading water and wastewater systems; and implementing effective flood mitigation measures like improved levee systems and drainage infrastructure.

At the heart of the Flood Restoration Portfolio is a social contract with the people of Lismore, emphasising transparency, accountability, and responsible management. Sustainable practices are central to our efforts, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.

By integrating local input, investing in workforce development, and utilising proven technology, the Flood Restoration Portfolio not only addresses the immediate needs arising from the floods but also lays a solid foundation for a stronger, more resilient Lismore.
