Free drop off for flood waste

Council is offering a free waste drop-off service exclusively for residents of the Lismore Local Government Area to assist with the clean-up following the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Residents can dispose of general waste from flood-affected properties as well as green waste resulting from storm damage at no cost. This service is expected to remain available until Sunday, 23 March 2025.

Upper Hollingworth Creek Flood Gate – In Progress

Refurbishment of the Upper Hollingworth Creek Flood Gate have been identified as an important flood resilience project following the 2022 floods.

Funding	Made possible under Flood Risk Management Infrastructure funding through the Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program (NRRRP)

Works will include sand blasting and painting of the existing flood gate, the raising and installation of electrical systems above 14.4m, and connection to a new remote monitoring system.
