Lismore City Council is excited to announce the upcoming Youth Week 2025, a vibrant celebration of our young people's talents, contributions, and aspirations. Running from Wednesday, 9 April to Thursday, 17 April, this year’s theme, 'We are the future, and the future is now!', underscores the pivotal role youth play in shaping our community’s future.

The program, developed in collaboration with local young people through Council’s Lismore Employment Acceleration Pathways (LEAP) program, offers a diverse range of activities designed to empower and engage. Highlights include:

  • ARTEXPRESS Exhibition: Showcasing selected artworks from local HSC students at the Lismore Regional Gallery.
  • Rollerworld Skating Event: A fun-filled evening at Lismore Rollerworld, providing a safe space for young people to skate and connect.
  • Goonellabah Skate Jam: An energetic day featuring skateboarding demonstrations and activities at the Goonellabah Skatepark.
  • Thready Set Go – Clothing Mending Session: A sustainable fashion workshop at Lismore Library, teaching young people how to mend and upcycle their clothing.
  • Zine Making Workshop: A creative session at Lismore Library where participants can learn about zines—what they are, how to make them, and how to distribute them. This workshop encourages self-expression through various mediums like paint pens, coloured pencils, and more.

Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg emphasises the significance of Youth Week:

"This week is all about empowering young people and recognising their influence on our community’s future."

Council encourages all young people to participate, try something new, and celebrate together. For more information and event registrations, visit the Lismore Youth Week page.

Lismore Youth Week is made possible thanks to funding from the Department of Communities and Justice and the Office of Regional Youth.
