Welcome to a special Business News edition
Lismore City Council invites local businesses to be part of our next series of Business Renewal Engagement.
Let us know about opportunities and challenges you see in our business community to help Lismore again thrive. We welcome your ideas and ways to work together to revitalise local shopping, boost visitation and enjoyment of our business centres, strengthen our economic ecosystem and share new positive stories for Lismore.
Your input will inform Council’s planning, advocacy and collaboration with government agencies, and our work with local businesses and organisations to progress through disaster recovery and renewal.
Businesses are invited to register via Your Say Lismore to share input and get involved in the upcoming Business Renewal Engagement:
- CBD Walkshop: 8am-10am, Monday, 11 September (numbers limited)
- Morning forum: 8.30am-10.30am, Wednesday, 13 September at Lismore Bounty Motel
- Afternoon forum: 5pm-7pm, Thursday, 14 September at Lismore Bounty Motel
An online questionnaire will be running alongside the interactive face-to-face sessions, for those who cannot attend in person. Find out more and get involved at yoursay.lismore.nsw.gov.au/business-renewal-2023
Aligning with recent engagement findings, the Business Activation Plan and other strategies in development, engagement focus areas include:
- Attracting visitors, customers, locals and businesses to Lismore
- Cleaning, fixing and beautifying Lismore
- Economic development enablers.
Council’s Destination and Economy team will also share updates about economic insights and outcomes from recent activation, promotions and support efforts.
You can see previous insights from Business Renewal Engagement snapshots for March 23 and August 22. This engagement is also intended to inform updating of the Business Activation Plan.
About 18 months on from the 2022 natural disaster, this engagement builds on efforts across the Lismore Local Government Area. We acknowledge this is a long journey - with much positive progress to reflect upon thanks to local businesses and supporting agenciPIes, along with other essential strategic initiatives in partnership with State and Federal Government.
