Insurance - Have your Say to Federal Parliament
You may be aware that Federal Parliament the House of Representatives Economics Committee’s is conducting an inquiry into insurers’ responses to 2022 major flood events.
They will be visiting Lismore on Thursday, 11 April and hosting sessions at Invercauld House, Goonellabah. It is important that business have say on issues including:
- the experiences of policyholders before, during and after making claims
- timeframes for resolving claims
- obstacles to resolving claims
- insurers’ communication with policyholders
- accessibility and affordability of hydrology reports and other expert assessments
- affordability of insurance premiums
- claimants’ experiences of insurers’ dispute resolution processes.
There is the option to make a short statement on the day (pre-register by emailing floodinsurance.reps@aph.gov.au or calling 02 6277 4707), or email a submission by 31 July 2024 to online link or by email to floodinsurance.reps@aph.gov.au
