- Any nature of events that require a full commercial kitchen and bar
The project is co-funded by Create NSW as well as State and Federal Government disaster recovery authorities.
January 2025 Update
The project recommenced after funding was received in December 2024. The reinstatement of funding has meant that works are now able to recommence, with site establishment underway. Full restoration of the facility will commence in late February and is expected to take approximately 12 months. This restoration includes the installation of internal floors, ceilings, walls, bathrooms, staging and seating.
November 2024 Update
The project was placed on hold due to lack of funding
August 2024 Update
City Hall experienced a series of enabling works, but progress has been curtailed due to funding constraints. Despite the site's demobilization, detailed designs and a comprehensive cost plan for its restoration and improvement have been completed and received. Council is working with various State Government funding agencies to commence Stage 2 (construction and refurbishment) as soon as possible.
July 2024 Update
Early works at the Lismore City Hall site included completing Stage 1 footings and blockwork, which were core-filled. The setup of stage 2 footings, columns and block walls, along with the installation of structural beams, progressed. Adjustments to props allowed for the next stages of work, with blockwork and column installations completed by late June. Stage 1 has been successfully completed, with preparations underway for the initiation of Stage 2.
May 2024 Update
Asbestos removal (windows) to the western façade and the north elevation (D1.02) were completed by the middle of May 2024. Demolition was also completed by mid-May 2024 with the installation of footings, columns and block work for prop removal (Level 1 internal). Roof leaks were repaired above the stage. Hoardings were installed where the windows had been removed. Load bearing walls were removed where required, with footings being exposed and geotechnical investigations undertaken to firm up footing design.
