The guardrails project started in February 2024, replacing or installing new guardrails a multisite works project to repair traffic barriers at road sections damaged during the 2022 natural disaster.


Generally, the sites are at road sections over creek crossings. Each work site required traffic control, and the repairs were generally completed within 2 days.

During the project, guardrails were installed at multiple locations, including two sites at Eltham Road, Nimbin Road, Rock Valley Road, Kyogle Road, Oakey Creek Road, Cawongla Road, Corndale Road and two sites at Boatharbour Road.
