Following the February 2022 natural disaster (AGRN1012), Newton Drive suffered extensive damage. Funding was secured for restoration works for several minor landslips and a single pipe culvert.

Works involved scaling of boulders along with clearing and reformation of a table drain to return the road to pre-existing condition. Landslip remediation and road reconstruction works were completed by September 2024.
