Disability Inclusion Action & Advisory
We received feedback from more than 200 people, including people with disabilities, carers, disability service providers, and advocacy groups.
We will use this feedback to develop actions and present a draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan to Council at a future meeting, which will be open for public exhibition and feedback before adoption.
The draft plan was delayed due to the extended timeline for Council elections and COVID-19 and was on exhibition in April-May 2022.
Disability & Inclusion Advisory Group
The Disability & Inclusion Advisory Group (previously known as the Access & Inclusion Committee and the Access and Inclusion Advisory Group) provides advice on the implementation of Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan, input and advice on strategies in the Lismore Community Strategic Plan concerning disability access and inclusion, and assists with the development of any subsequent disability inclusion action plans.
The group of council staff, councillors and community members and sector stakeholders meet quarterly for a period of four years.
