Volunteering

Thank you for considering volunteering with the Council. Your contribution helps us provide vital services and create a strong community in Lismore.

To volunteer, you must be at least nine years old. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times and work with staff who have completed a Working with Children Check. Volunteers over 90 will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may need to provide a doctor's certificate stating their capabilities. Our insurance provider does not cover individuals over 90.

To begin volunteering, please call (02) 6625 0500 and speak with the Coordinator of the relevant area. You will need to complete a Registration Form and an Engagement Agreement. Be sure to read and understand the Volunteer Program Policy, Procedure, and Handbook before starting. If you have any questions, ask your Coordinator for clarification.

We hope you have a rewarding volunteering experience with the Council.
