MAYORAL MINUTE

 

  • Councillors resolved to receive and note the Mayoral Attendance Report for February and March 2023.

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS
 

  • Councillors resolved to receive and adopt the recommendations contained in the Local Traffic Committee Meeting on 15 March 2023.

MATTERS ARISING

Councillors resolved to:
 

  • Classify 20 Hillside Drive, Nimbin as Operational Land.
  • Place on public exhibition a revised Councillors Expenses & Facilities Policy.
  • Adopt the Council Related Development Application Conflict of Interest Policy.

REPORTS FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER

Councillors resolved to: 
 

  • Support the Planning Proposal to amend the Lismore Local Environmental Plan 2012 to include optional clause 5.22 - special flood considerations.
  • Receive the March 2023 investment report.
  • Adopt the 2023/24 draft Budget and Fees & Charges for Richmond Tweed Regional Library.
  • Classify 44 Newhaven Drive, Goonellabah as Operational land.
  • Endorse the recommendation for construction of a new sewage treatment plant at the existing site at East Lismore and raising flood affected assets at the South Lismore sewage treatment plant above flood level.
  • Endorse the land acquisition for road widening purposes of 33 Arthur Road, Corndale.
  • Note the lease of office space in Lismore Central for the Richmond Tweed Regional Library’s children’s program.
  • Discontinue the Social Justice and Crime Prevention Committee.
  • Receive the Pecuniary Interest Returns report and acknowledge the tabled Pecuniary Interest Returns.
  • Revoke the Support Service and Functions to Mayor and Councillors Policy.
  • Move the June Ordinary Council meeting to 20 June 2023.

NOTICES OF MOTION

Councillors resolved to:
 

  • Rescind the decision of Item 12.4 Reduction in number of councillors from the 14 March 2023 meeting.
  • Immediately revoke Council's Health Promotion Policy.
  • Provide additional funding of $10,000 from the 2022/23 Incentive for Events budget to the Nimbin Aquarius Festival.

CONFIDENTIAL SESSION

Councillors resolved to exclude the press and public to consider confidential matters. After the session, Councillors returned to announce they resolved to:
 

  • Delegate authority to the General Manager to award a sole source contract to GHD Pty Ltd.
  • Accept the tender from Convic Pty Ltd for Lismore Urban Sports Precinct (Skatepark) Design & Construction.
  • Accept the Tender from Civil Contractors (Aust) No. 1 trading as Winslow, for Airport Run Up Bay and Plane Parking Area.
