Lismore City Council is pleased to announce that with the support of the NSW Reconstruction Authority, the Recovery Centre will continue its ongoing support and services to the local community. It had been scheduled to close at the end of September.

The Recovery Centre will be relocating from the Transit Centre on Magellan Street, to around the corner at 14 Carrington Street to be situated within the NSW Reconstruction Authority’s offices.

The recovery centre provides a valuable service to our community providing a safe space people can submit and discuss grant applications, housing needs, insurance or legal concerns, access supports as they become available and request goods.

Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg welcomed the news.

“It’s great news that the Recovery Centre Team can continue to support the Lismore local government area,” he said.

“Being located at the new location on Carrington Street allows the Lismore City Council Recovery Team to work in better with the Reconstruction Authority to further assist the community as transitions to long-term needs and planning.”

The Recovery Centre will commence working from 14 Carrington Street on 3 October and operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9am and 4pm.
