Strategic purpose To enhance Union Street, South Lismore's structural integrity and driving conditions

Lismore City Council has begun phased roadworks on Union Street, South Lismore. The project, divided into stages, will address deteriorating road formations and improve traffic safety.

  • Stage 1: From the termination point of recent roundabout works at the Casino Street intersection, proceeding north to the railway viaduct. 
  • Stage 2: From the conclusion of recent roundabout works at the Casino Street intersection, progressing south to the railway crossing near Kyogle Street (currently in the design phase, pending funding).
  • Stage 3: Future works planned from under the viaduct northward to the Coleman Bridge (pending funding).

Stage 1a has been completed, and Stage 1b commenced on October 24, 2023, focusing on the northern side. Modifications to road levels and drainage will be implemented as needed. Additional works, pending funding, are planned for other sections of Union Street.
