Heritage Park’s new Gigadome is now open, offering families in Lismore an innovative play space designed for children aged five and above. With its towering semi-spherical structure, unique climbing features, and the thrilling Clifftop Rider, the Gigadome adds an exciting new dimension to the park’s attractions.
The upgrades reflect feedback from the 2021 Heritage Park consultation, which informed several popular additions and future plans. Completed projects include shade installations over the Tiny Tots playground and water play area, drainage improvements, the creation of a crushed granite river, sandstone arc seating, and the Heritage Park Pedestrian Spine Pathway, connecting Lismore City Hall to Riverside Park with a well-lit 2.5m-wide concrete path and a raised deck around the park’s central fig tree.
Future developments include change rooms and toilets, repurposing the railway carriage into a café, constructing an Adventure Tower playground for older children, and expanding native and sensory gardens under the Nature Play project.
Funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities and CBD Revitalisation initiatives, these enhancements ensure Heritage Park remains a vibrant, family-friendly hub for locals and visitors alike.
