Lismore City Council is implementing changes to waste collection services to deliver cost-efficient and sustainable operations for our community. Affected households will receive a letter from the first week of July 2024 outlining the changes to their current service and any action required.
This work took place under the CBD Footpaths Replacement Project, which aimed to further revitalise the Lismore CBD, benefiting the local economy and community.
Funding for the project had been secured prior to the 2022 natural disaster. The objective of the LCRI Program was to stimulate additional infrastructure construction activity in local communities across Australia, to assist communities to manage the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Infrastructure works underneath the footpath were improved as part of this project and included (but were not limited to):
communications upgrade comprising of provisions installed for future CCTV and SmartCity initiatives.
