Lismore City Council is implementing changes to waste collection services to deliver cost-efficient and sustainable operations for our community. Affected households will receive a letter from the first week of July 2024 outlining the changes to their current service and any action required.
As part of the Lismore Laneways revitalisation project, Lismore City Council, in collaboration with the Back Alley Gallery, called for art submissions for new bins to be installed in Carrington Street. Residents within the Northern Rivers were invited to submit their designs to be digitally printed and installed on the side panels of the three new bins.
Artwork that reflected the character and uniqueness of Lismore was sought, with the only restriction being that the designs utilised the provided colour palette, which complemented and was coherent with the new creative 'Way Finding Strategy'.
The winning designs (see below) were printed by Lismore Sign Shop and installed onto the sides of bin cabinets as part of the refurbishment of Carrington Street.
