Waste and resource recovery update

Residential kerbside waste collections

  • Normal kerbside waste collections will resume Monday 10 March. Please put out your bins on your normal days.
  • Residents who missed bin collections on Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March please place all bins on the kerbside for collection ON YOUR REGULAR SCHEDULED BIN COLLECTION DAY.

Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre

  • The Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre will reopen Monday 10 March, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
  • This includes Return and Earn from 10am – 3pm.
  • The Lismore Revolve Shop will be closed this week and reopen Wednesday 19 March (9am to 2pm). This extended closure is due to staff being redirected to inspecting green waste loads.
  • The Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens will remain closed until further notice. Inspections are required prior to reopening to ensure safety of volunteers & visitors. 

For residents of Lismore Local Government Area ONLY. Council is providing FREE drop off for waste generated as a consequence of the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, including:

  • General waste from flood affected properties
  • Green waste from storm damage

This service is anticipated to continue to be offered until close of business on Sunday 23 March 2025.

Important:

  • Please ensure green waste is free from general waste
  • If any load is found to contain asbestos not properly double-wrapped and sealed in plastic, it will be rejected
  • Expect longer wait times and please be patient as we resume operations

Nimbin Transfer Station

  • Nimbin Transfer Station will reopen Tuesday 11 March, 8am to 3pm.

Business waste collections

  • Normal collections will resume Monday 10 March.
