Proposed name: Archibald Place

Suburb/address: South Lismore

Description: This new road will be created between Lot 16 DP18327 & Lot 1 DP714060 formally known as 208 Union Street, South Lismore which is the southern access Road to Riverview Park and access road to the old Mills Transport site.

Name origin: Named after the late Archibald James Mills - Active member of the community and founder of Mills Transport, the former head office of Mills Transport adjoins the road proposed to be named Archibald Place.

Proposed Road Closure

Notice is given under Section 38B of the Roads Act 1993, that Council proposes to close sections of public road reserves on Wyrallah Road adjoining the following properties (plans available online and upon request):

Upon closure of the roads, Council intends to give the land as compensation under Section 44 of the Roads Act 1993. This proposal flows from a road re-alignment.

Any person can make a written submission to the Acting Property and Legal Services Officer, Lismore City Council, PO Box 23A, Lismore, NSW 2480 or email council@lismore.nsw.gov.au with correspondence marked ‘Wyrallah Road Closure Realignment– CDR19/418’ by 4pm on 1 July 2020. Under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.

Once the submission period is concluded, Council will consider all submissions and decide on road closure suitability.

Renewal of Lismore Workers Golf Club Licence Agreement

Notice is given that on 6 May 2020:

Lismore City Council proposes to issue a five-year lease over Council land and part Crown Reserve 89503 (being part Lot 237 DP 755718, Lot 7300 DP 1129544, Lots 7302-7304 DP 1154299, Lot 1 DP 187961, Lots 1- 2 DP 121493, Lot 1 DP 366985, and Lot 1 DP 772720) and over part of the Road Reserve adjoining 1 Barham Street, Girards Hill (Lot 7305 DP 1154299).

Geographical Names Act 1966

Notice of Proposal to Amend Locality Boundaries in the Lismore Local Government Area


The Geographical Names Board is seeking public comment on a proposal from Lismore City Council to amend an address locality boundary in its Local Government Area. 
The proposal is to amend the existing boundaries of Mcleans Ridges and Boat Harbour.

Details of this proposal, including map GNB3628-3-A showing the proposed boundary amendment, may be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board website at www.gnb.nsw.gov.au from 5 May 2020 to 5 June 2020.

Public Exhibition of Proposal to Re-establish Alcohol-free Zone(s)

Lismore and Nimbin Village

In accordance with Section 644A of the Local Government Act 1993 notice is hereby given of Council’s draft proposal to re-establish alcohol-free zones within Lismore and Nimbin Village. The draft proposal is to re-establish existing alcohol-free zones for a further period of four (4) years.

The proposal is on public exhibition from 4 May to 18 May 2020. A copy of the mapped zones is available to view in the Document Library on this page.

Notice is hereby given on this 17th day of April 2020 that Lismore City Council proposes to renew the licence for a further period of 5 years over part of the community Council land situated at 1 Cowley Road, Dunoon (Lot 33 DP 1191273) known as the Reg Gregor Memorial Shed.

Under Section 47A Local Government Act 1993

Notice is given on 21 February 2019 that:

Lismore City Council proposes to issue a three-year lease of the Rowing Club House (being operational land). The lease includes an interdependent licence over part of adjoining community Council land situated at 56 Bruxner Highway, Loftville. The Club House is to the north east of the lake and its surrounding licensed area is outlined in red.

The proposed lease and licence will be to Lismore Rowing Club Incorporated for the purposes of rowing club administrative, storage and other ancillary uses as approved by the Council.

Vacant Land – Seeking Expressions of Interest

Albert Park Reserve at 338 Keen Street, East Lismore

Status: Seeking Expressions of Interest

Lismore City Council, as appointed Crown Land Manager for Albert Park Reserve (R89503), are seeking expressions of interest for use of the vacant land fronting Keen Street on the northern side of the basketball stadium (south of Bernstein Street). The land has been used for grazing in the past, however, Council are willing to consider alternative uses or use of only part of the area.

The land is partially fenced along Keen Street and Bernstein Street (shown blue on the image), however would require internal fencing to be undertaken at the applicant’s cost to keep stock east of the Wilson Walking Track (indicative fencing required shown red on the image). The applicant will also be responsible for arranging their own water connection at a cost of approximately $1900. Other terms and conditions will apply.

The grazing licence will be limited to 12 months under section 2.20 of the Crown Land Management Act 2016, however, there is the potential to renew each year.

There are no cattle yards on the land. You are encouraged to inspect the site before making an application to Council to ensure it is suitable for your needs.

Crown land available for short-term grazing licence – Tregeagle Reserve at 820 Tregeagle Road, Tregeagle

Lismore City Council, as appointed Crown Land Manager for Tregeagle Reserve, now has approximately 5.5 hectares of land available to licence for grazing purposes.

The licence to issue will be short-term (maximum 12 months) and will require the licensee to provide their own water and at their own expense attend to weed maintenance and fencing of the licensed area. Fencing shown as yellow hatching on the attached diagram must be sufficient to keep cattle from creek. Other terms and conditions will apply.

There is no cattle yard on the Licensed Area. Prospective applicants are invited to inspect the site before making a application to Council to ensure it is suitable for their needs.
