Christmas window competition award won by the book

Thursday, 20 December

The Book Warehouse has been named winner of the 2018 Christmas Window Display Competition.

Hosted by the Lismore Business Promotion Program, the competition challenged businesses in Lismore to make a beautiful Christmas window display that lit up at night.

The Book Warehouse was judged ‘best window’ for a Christmas tree made of books that sparkled with Christmas lights and showed great artistic flair.

“It was a great combination of marketing their products but also celebrating Christmas – it was very beautiful and all of the judges agreed it simply had to be named the winner,” Acting City Centre Manager Andrew Walker said.

Second place went to the Lazuli Sisters for a pared back Aussie gumtree display while the Peppertree Kitchen was voted third for a lovely traditional display.

“We had great participation from our local businesses this year with everything from the traditional to others that were very contemporary and abstract Christmas windows. We love seeing people create whatever brings them joy at Christmas and it’s nice to see people experimenting and trying new ideas,” Andrew said.

“We want to thank all the businesses who participated for their hard work and for helping to make our city a beautiful and enjoyable place to shop at Christmas time.”

The 2018 Christmas Window Display Competition was judged by Mayor Isaac Smith, Lismore City Council General Manager Shelley Oldham, Acting City Centre Manager Andrew Walker and Lismore Chamber of Commerce & Industry Executive Officer Elise Taylor.
