Delays to DA assessment times

If you have recently lodged a Development Application or are about to, please be aware that due to a number of exceptional circumstances, customers can expect delays on Council assessment times for all DAs.

We apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this may be causing and we are working hard to address this issue.

We are currently experiencing a surge in the number of Development Applications throughout the Lismore Local Government Area.

We are also navigating through 
the impacts of needing to transition to online and virtual service delivery via the NSW Planning Portal.

Council is committed to maintaining open communication with applicants, developers and the community as new issues and challenges arise.

How can you help?


There are some ways that you can help if you are lodging a Development Application. To help us reduce delays we would be grateful if you could:

 
  • Check the progress of your development application on DA Tracker
  • Understand that the assessment officer may not be available to take your call but your call will be returned
  • If there is more than one applicant please have a single representative for contact with Council in relation to the application
  • Use the NSW planning portal as the source of all information relating to development applications - it will continue to be upgraded and improved for this purpose
