Your neighbours could provide assistance when you need it most. Making a connection with your neighbours before an emergency happens can reduce stress and improve everyone’s safety and wellbeing.

Find the right information during an emergency
Know where to find the right information during an emergency:
- To report a fire emergency, call triple zero (000)
- If a tree threatens the safety of property or people – contact the NSW SES on 132 500.
- For advice or to report a bush fire hazard on your own or a neighbouring property, contact the Lismore Fire Control Centre on 02 6663 0000.
- To report suspicious behaviour that could result in bush fire arson, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
- To report a lit cigarette butt tosser, visit the NSW RFS website or call 1800 679 737 and leave a message.
- To report fallen trees on local roads – contact Lismore City Council on 02 6625 0500.
- To report fallen powerlines and find information on blackouts or power restoration, contact Essential Energy on 13 20 80.
- For information on road closures – go to livetraffic.com.
- For weather updates - go to bom.gov.au.
- Listen to local radio stations and monitor emergency services’ social media, such as the NSW RFS Facebook and Instagram pages, to stay updated with emergency announcements.
